I just got the "Defeat Imminent!" message, and that the Sicily almost achieved world domination. ~D
But if the AI plays by the same rules as player does, Sicily still has to conquer another 6 regions, and exterminate Venice (I took care of Milan for them :2thumbsup: ). If this is true, isn't it a bit premature for such a message?
So, does the AI have the same victory conditions as the player (for Sicily short campaign - conquer 15 regions and eliminate Milan and Venice)?

Same victory conditions.
Not sure why you get that message, but I never had the AI get that far.
I suppose they did take 9 of the 15 already and eliminated 1 of the factions they need to kill, so that's more than half way...

Thanks for the answer.
No need to panic then, it's just my advisors being a bit paranoid. :laugh4:
I also got that message, on a long campaign. England was taking over, I was playing as spain and was sitting on my own little peninsula, so I had to take my 8 regions against the English empire that almost had all the regions it needed! That was the most fun I've had *ever* ^^

i think you get that message when the factions another faction needs to destroy are destroyed

Per Ole, are you saying that the AI conquered almost 45 regions? That's amazing! I rarely see them conquer more than 15 ~D
@predaturd
No, the other faction, Venice, is still alive and kicking. They are reduced to only 2 regions, but are not in immediate danger.
yeah I know, as I said it was the most fun campaign I ever played!
The way I did it was to just hang around in Iberia with my spanish guys, block off the passes to the north (by the mountains, forts ftw) and defeat any army that tried to attack me. I had a very strong fleet, so no one could attack by sea.
After a while, I was under attack from the French and then England showed up in a shitload of boats, so I crushed all their boats and defeated the french armies invading, but nothing else. After that, England left me alone.
About 140-150 turns into the game, I get the message that England is winning (Defeat imminent), so I recruit a couple of spies and send them through Europe, and *everything* was red!! That had concquered (as far as I could see) all the way to hungary and even a little into italy (France was entirely red).
Of course, I couldn't stand for this so I took my little but rich faction to war against the facist English and fought my way north throughout europe and eventually landed on the british isles (LOADS of huge battles, England had a bunch of full stacks everywhere) and managed to conquer London after being beaten back to Normandie two times.
Before that I wasn't sure I was going to win. My spies had reported most of Englands armies were in the east, so I still hadn't faced 1/4th of what he had, but after London the tide turned in my favor.
I went on and conquered the rest of Europe, crushed the English eventually and fought a very long and hard campaign against the timurids to the east.
All in all, MOST FUN EVER!!! :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash:
:laugh4: :laugh4:
