View Full Version : Query - My computer can't handle reinforcements?!

Today I had a pretty major battle with my two full stacks vs their two full stacks. (one stack was outside a city, the other was the city garrison; HRE always does that in their Italian settlement). I use max detail and max unit size. I'm used to my own reinforcements being delayed, but I got a message saying the AI's reinforcements would never show up at all, because it was too many troops for my computer! I tried messing with the settings to see if they would ever show up, but they never did.

So is there any way to disable this "feature"? I easily handle custom battles up to 10,000, I think this one was in the 6-7,000 range. The battle was pretty easily won and it was a somewhat critical fight (kicking HRE out of Italy). I'm guessing it will be some kind of configuration file I have to mess with.

medieval2.preference.cfg:

unlimited_men_on_battlefield = 1

That fixes it. And I got the same problem on my high end system.

Its in your main medieval2 folder.
If you do not have extensions enabled, it displays as medieval2.preference
Open that file with notepad or word pad.

I just made this change as per Factionheirs instructions.

Can anybody tell me if this would be Savegame freindly? Or would I have to start again?

Cheers.

Galain. :2thumbsup:
