Edit- From the time I made this thread to right now, the Turks and Italians have basically beaten me to Constantinople and western Turkey. So I'm going to start over, how embarrasing! Sorry for giving up so soon. :D
Thanks Cheetah for the help however.[snip]
Do you have Raguse, Sofia, Iconeum, Cesarea?
The first two is crucial to controll the Balkan the second two to take out the turks. I would move against the turks as IMO they are the weakest link and you need Iconeum and Cesarea anyway.
Send you priest to Antioch move in a high chiv governor, build tons of militia and move out your army to fight the turks.
If you cannot hold Palermo then sell it. Perhaps to the Moors and offer peace, you do not have to be war with the Moors.
Also where are your forces at the Balkan? Tessalonica, Constaninople?
Last but not least, if you fight out defensive sieges 7 or 8 melee unit is enough to defend against a gate rush (which means max 3 or 4 unit above the free upkeep, you do not need more garrison).
Also, set taxes high and build merchants to use the resouces around Constantinople and Antoich.

Sofia has been Hungarian since turn 4, and I've avoided war with them. I had Regusa, and the small village along the coast next to it. (Forget its name) But Milan took the small village, and then Venice sent a full stack to take Regusa. They were held up fighting bandits, so I destroyed anything I could and then fled my generals to Greece, and disbanded the army at Regusa (they didn't stand a chance, judging by what I could see the Venitians had in their stack).
I have taken Cesarea and Iconium from the Turks. They only have those two isolated provinces left in the far east. Right now they are besieging Antioch with a really small stack for some reason, I'm about to sally.
I suppose I will sell Palermo. It's disappointing because I'm falling behind other factions, and the game years are passing by at basically a stalemate. The Papal army finally attacked it, and was slaughtered by the Byzantine guard archers. Those guys are amazing, like feudal knights and longbowmen mixed together. But the whole point of capturing Sicily was to attack Italy, and that campaign has failed.
Just as I have pushed most of the turks from being a threat, Egypt declared jihad on Jerusalem and wiped out the Spanish crusaders. They blockaded a port and refuse to sign a ceasefire, so I expect yellow stacks any day now.
Additionally Constantinople and Thessalonica are rebelling for some strange reason. I have them on low taxes. There are tons of heretics running around but I can't train any priests. Ugh.
It will be turn 200 before I even leave Greece. :idea2:
Atleast the campaign is pretty interesting and challenging, however. I was getting a little bored plowing around the map unchallenged like I did with other factions.
EDIT- Turks, from apparently thin air, have invaded with three (THREE!) stacks at about 3/4 strength each. Egypt has sent a full stack and landed on Cyprus with it, but isn't doing anything. Venice is right outside the fortress in Greece (the name escapes me). This is the most disastrous turn in a campaign I have ever seen. With the Mongols coming (I'm on turn 62 right now), I think it would be best to abandon my poor empire to the vultures and start over. This time I will avoid Italy totally and completely and focus on the Middle-East.
My appologies for giving up so soon after making a thread, but during this time my campaign has spiraled well out of control. Wish me luck.
