The best part of the book is where it discusses the computations that are involved during battle. It goes into detail about how valour, attack, charge and defend values affect the outcome of a battle. If you read that section and learn it and then use their unit guide and look at these values you will improve your game. As for single player, I am not sure, I skipped over that because I have yet to play a single player game. hehe http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

It is good, but has a few typos in the unit stats section. The battle mechanics description is awesome as it will allow you to calculate the relative chances of units killing each other quite easily.

Worth buying.
