I just got an Ibook, and I have had it all of 4 days when all of a sudden it's power drops off. Lo and behold, whenever it's powersinks below 70%, it suddenly is devoid of power. Whats the problem? Also, can I get MTW to work on a Mac operating system?

You probably have a defective battery. If you have a backup battery test it out. This can be a more serious problem that it appears as a lot of unexpected shutdowns could cause damage to some components. Get it in for a warranty repair soon if it's new, as you suggest, and try not to operate it off battery in the mean time is my recommendation.

You can install XP on any Intel Mac with Apple's Bootcamp app. Check it out on their website. That would allow you to run MTW and other PC games, but you'll need to partition your drive for it and own a copy of XP. It's actually quite easy to set up, if you think it's worth it and already have an open XP install.

Thanks. A defective battery! wow, didn't expect that. And you say a Mac can't run MTW or STW all by it's lonesome?

Nope, different OS. There's no OSX version of any of the Total War games.

As far as the battery, it's rare, but anytime you get a few million units running off the assembly line some of them are going to slide through with a fault. Quite recently, about 6 months ago, there was a recall of a lot of bad batteries due to a risk of 'explosion'.

Good luck! Shouldn't be a hard fix especially if your machine is still under warranty.

Unlike LordandConqueror's defective battery, those were all recalled due to a design fault that made them combust, not because a few faulty ones got through.

I wouldn't go anywhere near a laptop if all the faulty ones that got through were liable to bursting into flames.

Heh, yeah, didn't mean to scare you. That was a discovered design flaw that, as my somewhat sarcastic quotes were meant to imply, didn't actually cause any explosions just a few singed laps. :laugh4:
