View Full Version : Dead govenors
Is there any way to get a notification when one of your govenors dies? I'm getting on in the game and I own all of africa, all of spain, half of Eastern and Central Europe and one or two other places. After each turn - if you don't position the armies in a particular spot in each province, everything collects around a particular point. If one of my governors has died in a battle, I don't know. The only way to tell is to notice the little scroll thing, which, lets face it, is not large. I don't want to have to scan the entire map closely after every turn that I've had a battle just to ensure I'm getting the most from all of my provinces. Is there an option somewhere that I can check to get it to notify me when one has died?

I haven't noticed any.
I only notice it when I see a title in a province again.

I just bring up the province info screen (for one province) and then click on the arrow up by the name to cycle through all the other provinces I own. I can check income, loyalty, governor (or lack of one). It the only way (that I can see) to avoid missing this stuff.

Hjey~!
Does a Governor's unit have to be wiped out for the title to revert to the original province, or does only the Governor himself have to be killed?
If so, I imagine its the same chance as getting your King killed when he gets thrown into the frey.
Unit commanders seems to be a little stronger than the usual man in the unit, but they do fall quite often.
And it is only the govenor himself that has to die (look for the transfer of the unit banner, that is the cue of his death).
The king and the general has greatly upped stats, they don't die very easily, but the same rule applies to them too.

This is why most of my governors are camping in their fort! Ah, not the ones I want to replace, though... Auto-sim seems VERY efficient in bad governor cleaning...

Yeah there should be a notification if one of your governers dies. Like so many other things in the game, the info is there, but its not user friendly or easy to find (scrolling through every province info screen)

Some of the titles give higher command though, I have several level 9 generals thanks to these titles and I don't intend to have them sitting around doing nothing. that's part of the point of these titles surely, to improve your generals statistics?
