Hello,
I'm helping those more familiar with Windows XP and Microsoft in general might be able to offer me a little help. About two weeks ago, I stopped being able to log into my Microsoft Money account using my .NET passport. My .NET passport is linked to a hotmail account that I only use for this purpose. I can log into the account itself, or MSN. But I cannot get Money to log in to my .NET account. Do you think they've stopped supporting Money 2004? I'm afraid to ask, but is it time to upgrade?

Thanks in advance for any help.

No firsthand knowledge, but a little Googling turns up a discussion (http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/forums/index.cfm?action=showthread&threadid=311378&forumid=1) over at PC Advisor. There's also a MSoft support article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/329840/en-us) which may or may not be a help ...

Looks like there may be more (http://www.andrewconnell.com/blog/archive/2004/07/28/429.aspx) to the problem:

Surprisingly CNET hasn't picked up on this yet, but this week quite a few (if not a many) Microsoft Money 2004 customers have been locked out of their financial information due to a Sunday night update gone bad. Money users (like me) can use their Passport to secure their data as well as sync info with MSN. Basically, an update to the Passport servers caused many people to lose this online features (I did Monday morning) and others were totally locked out (progressed to that for me Monday night). Frustrating, but no official word from MS on their site... but there is some stuff from Cal, a Money MVP in the newsgroups (see links below)

I'll post the resolution link when it's made public.

In the back of my mind, I seem to remember that Microsoft issued some sort of edict that they would not support Money 2005 or earlier beyond a certain date. I can't remember the exact statement, or whether they actually said Passport would no longer work with Money 2005 or earlier. If that's the case, I'll upgrade alright. Right over to Quicken.
