I can't seem to shake this trait...I'm playing LTC 3.1 as Byzantine and it seems on the first turn when i build a road I get the incompetent trader trait for whichever governor is in the province when the road is built...
Is this a known bug since roads actually help trade?
Well... you get that when you have governors in settlements without at least grain exchange, so what i suggest is: in the start, send governor away to plant Watchtowers but make sure he´s back when Grain Exchange is halfway done, so he still gets the points towards good trader.
I don´t know why would you get it on first turn right after building roads, never happened to me.

Get rid off data\descr_geography_new.txt and data\descr_geography_new.db

Bad Trader is caused by being in settlement without a grain exchange, that is the only cause and the only solution is to build one. Also dirt roads do not improve trade, despite what the description says.
Ditto on what FH says. You should have read the unpacker readme.txt

lol yes that is true i should of but im not used to having to unpack stuff to mod total war games...>_>
and with LTC 3.1 it makes grain exchanges so expensive and the Byzantines are dirt poor despite great positioning trade wise ...

I don't recall 100%, but I think they can still get points twords bad trader even when the grain exchange is halfway built.
