I have an unusual crash ( from my point of view):

The loading bar fills up and the menu music starts and then the crash.
The messge I get is:

Generic Error:

Failed to find 'data/menu/border_4pix_black_gold_selected.tga'.

Just before this I had another crash also when the main menu was suposed to appear, but this one caused my computer to restart.
When it did it first did a scan (for disk integrity I think it said) on the disk with EB on it and deleted 2 or 3 files (possibly one of them was the one causing this problem, I didn't try to remeber them).

What can be done other than reinstaling the game?

You can run the validation tool and see what files are missing, then extract them from the installer with 7-zip. The one in the error message seems a good bet :beam:.

I did the validation. These are the missing files:
Missing file: .\data\menu\border_4pix_black_gold_black.tga
Missing file: .\data\menu\border_4pix_black_gold_selected.tga
Missing file: .\data\menu\border_alpha.tga

I tried with 7-zip and searched in the menu folder but these files weren't there. I looked in other folders too but nothing.
I'm probably looking in the wrong place. Can you tell me where to look for them.

Oh, those are vanilla files. I'll upload them for you, hang on a couple of minutes.

Edit: ftp://europabarbarorum.org/menu.rar

Hello there
i seem to have a problem with starting EB, whenever i go into that screen we have to wait for some logos and that entry movie, the game says: (Error: Filename doesn't exist eb/data/animation/engine/ballista/ballista_idle.cas).
When i checked, it is there.

Have you renamed the mod folder? I remember I got this error when I did that.

Some notes:
1) You might benefit from creating your own thread for your own errors/bugs/ whatever, so it is easier to distinguish and keep track of problems.
2) You might benefit from reading the 'How to ask for help with a crash thread' found among the stickies in this forum;
3) You will almost certainly benefit from the Installation Validation tool, found in its own sticky thread as well.
4) It looks like your install is not correct, you may want to verify that you did everything correctly.
