Just turn your screensaver off. No need to play around with the other settings. Just turn off the screensaver and it should work fine.

That is so clearly not the general solution. There are several causes to STW/MTW CTDs and I'm not aware of screensavers being related. Video card drivers are usually the problem. A screensaver should never attempt to run anyway while the game is running. Other power management options could conceivably be an issue but IMHO this is not. If it has worked for you, then maybe you could describe how, and when and how frequently your CTDs were occurring.
