View Full Version : Ireland
heh,
I've started a new campaign, playing as England.
The thing is i've been victorious in both Wales and Scotland bringing them under my control, but I can't seem to invade Ireland...
What units/lands do you need to be able to get too Ireland. I need the lands as I don't fancy having to break through the French just yet!

You need ships between one of your provinces with a port and Ireland. In addition, no enemy ships must be in that shipline.

One port and enough ships (probably 2, only one if your port is in Wales) to reach from that port to the shores of the Emerald Isle.
Also, your troops will be stuck there until you build a port for them to return from. I hope they like potatoes!
So if i've got a port in scotland, with one of those 1st level ships in the Irish sea i can invade?
But be careful when attacking an island, your troops will need a port to come back after victory...forgot that once or twice (worst being : revolt in Corsica, at the very beginning of a 2000 florins castle construction (12 years), when I sent my crusade-ready army to kill off those few peasants...Had to wait 16 years to get that army back...)

Scotland has a port that Touches the North Sea, that means you need a solid line of Ships to get to Ireland.
Here's were you'd need ships.
North Sea, North Atlantic, Irish Sea.
Or
North Sea, English Channel, Irish Sea.

mmmh, potatoes were brought back from Americas to Europe. I highly doubt they were some in Ireland in medieval times.....
