Alas, England you have failed my troops test and I must destroy you.
The Scottish lines were well hidden by the trees as king William the conquerer made his way to his rallying English troops just a few miles out of Nottingham. Suddenly he hears the deafening roar of cavalry and his men along with his life are sent to the eternal reaches. Just to the north west comes on of his captains thinking to take out my forces before they cause any more damage to the all-ready mourning state of england, while at the same time the forces of Nottingham are coming to fight for the body of their kind and walk right into another ambush set by the Scottish general Prince Edmund. Sending two of his Knight companies to hid in the forest to the east and two the the west he wait as the enemy army approaches from north west. Giving the order not to attack until he has seen the enemy troops in formation in front of him. The English troops soon stumble upon the small clearing where their king lies dead with all his men and not a single one of the Scotts are near him. Wailing at the loss of their king they march on not knowing that they are now walking into another ambush set by their foe.
"Captain, why not give your self up while you still can!" Shouts Edmund prince of the Scotts.
"Because, my worthy foe there is but one company with you other than your personal body guard, and if you haven't seen I outnumber you three to one" The captain cried out, continuing his speech;
"Edmund you have done a horrible thing to attack the king on his way to Nottingham you have killed his captain taking charge of the castle and it seems as though you are the one that sho....."
The last of his words were unheard as he saw Edmund raise a flag and what seemed like out of no where came the missing knights. Before most of men had time to react the knight slammed into his flanks killing many on impact and routing what few men he had left. Edmund decided to take this captain prisoner and charged forth to stay his opponent before he had time to flee.
In the end Edmund had lost only 27 out of his original 224 and out of the 27 only 8knights had fallen while the rest where his light cavalry, and out of the Englishes 786 troops barley 68 survived that encounter and with over 450 captured. Edmund sent a messenger to the new king of England who was coming to support his father asking for seven-thousand florins in return for his men and the brave but inept captain. The new king refused and the prisoners were all put to death.
-My first battle against the English in a war they started to take control of my fathers lands.......
They will pay dearly for that mistake...
