Well let's start from the beginning.

First, we know what a BSoD is, young grasshopper. Most of us have had more than a few in our days dealing with good ol' Microsoft. :beam:

Now, we will help if we can. What were you doing when it crashed? Did you notice anything "abnormal" leading up to the BSoD? Have you restarted the machine, if so did it reboot properly? What are the system specs? How old is it? What OS and commonly used applications do you have installed?

Brute Windows truth: If it doesn't happen regularly there is no fix. Which is to say, if you aren't doing something relatively specific which can be identified (And reproduced) as causing a BSOD then your instability is probably too broad to be addressed over the 'net.

That being said, the same general tips to improve stability apply to BSODs:

1. Windows Update!

2. Any recent hardware changes? Software?

3. Make absolutely sure your virus definitions are up to date!

4. Spyware/malware scanner like Spybot.

5. Clean out your registry.

6. Get the latest driver for your graphics card. If that doesn't help get the one recommended by the card's manufacturer and/or your machine's builder.

Good luck. :2thumbsup:

edit: I should've phrased that first part in the form of a question; Do you get a blue screen every time you boot up? Every time you launch some specific application?

:egypt:

BIOS stands for Basic Input Output System. It regulates the computer.

If it's a BSoD it will contain some error info. You need to post this up as you're not being specific enough. You mention a blank screen but is this a black screen a black screen or a blue screen with white text on it?
