I just wonder how much work you expert players lay down on micromanaging on the strategic map? In my campaigns played so far (1½..Denmark on easy and then now on normal not yet finished) I sometimes gets swarmed by emirs, priests and emissaries from opposing factions...I dont want them there so I try to assasinate them...but they seem to be moved back and forth by each turn so that eventually in following them my assasins gets caught by their assasins or borderfortifications..

This is very smart of the ai but I think its to timeconsuming to use the same strategy myself..I just want to know if the rest of you also use this "move around" strat?

Half an hour seem long to you?

If I own half of the land or more, I usually spend 15-30 mins a turn to do every thing: check tax rate, loyalty and income; moving agent especially inquisitor and grand inquisitor; check the governors V&V; balancing/moving troops/ship to where they should be; considering the neccesary upgrade/training troop; checking nenemy/neutral/ally province/army/agent; fight the battle; incite revolt; marry and marry off princess; and every thing else that need my attention.

I don't consider myself an expert player of any sort, even though I got into this trip from the very release of STW and afte MI took on MTW. anyway, yes, micromanaging in this game can be awesomely tedious. BUT that's true mostly for those attracted by the real time side of the game (the magnificent battles).

The others (like me) who have spend in the past endless hours fiddling with Civilization, Master of Orion, Heroes and such, do find the required micromanaging a bit on the light side - actually we demand (hello? CA? Is anyone there?) more options to manage efficiently our empire: Lists, menus, sorting of general and provinces, more diplomacy options etc.

For those who believe that this is boring... well, try the historical battles and/or campaigns, or go online to find some challenging opponents.

But quit whining about the micromanaging level required, or I'll send you my old copy of Civilization 2 (now, that's micromanagers heaven http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif )

I will definately try to manage my imperium in a more throuout manner the next campaign.

Im currently a bit disappointed with myself...I let an bad, bad prince become king and now he only produces bad heirs, should have taken care of this earlier...but seems as if Im to eager to see what will happen everywhere...
