Greetings all,
In game certain traits replace a characters surname (ie he becomes "the defender" or "the killer")
I'd like to edit the nick names given when this happens and what traits give them, can anyone point me in the right direction on what files i would need to edit?
Following on from this, is it possible to link nicknames in with ancillaries as well?
Thanks
Mike
Well, open export_descr_character_traits.txt, there in the beginning you see
Level Legendary_Commander
Description Legendary_Commander_desc
EffectsDescription Legendary_Commander_effects_desc
GainMessage Legendary_Commander_gain_desc
Epithet Legendary_Commander_epithet_desc
Threshold 18
Effect Command 5
in export_VnVs.txt (text folder)
{Legendary_Commander} Legendary Commander
{Legendary_Commander_desc}
His proven ability to command in battle has made this man a legend, not least amongst his men who will follow him into any fight!
{Legendary_Commander_gain_desc}
This man has gained high rank as a General.
{Legendary_Commander_epithet_desc} the Mighty
Theoretically you need to add Epithet line to the trait in EDCT; then in the text file add description. For edit simply change existed word.

Fantastic, thanks for the quick responce, and so simple too :wall:
No idea how I missed that!
Ok next question then as I think you're probably right its not possible to give a surname through ancillaries. Is it posible to trigger traits by having a certain ancillary?
Through ancilarries it actually possible, but it's a bit tricky for me, never was much into it, so if you really need it....

Something with effects and epitet trait gains next turn after anc...
