Hello! I think you have probably heard a lot about this, but I already searched the forums and still I'm left in the dark.

It is regarding Pahlava governments. I know that at start they behave like a nomadic faction, with pastoralism and nomadism government types, and the settlement + herds unit recruitment lines. This is until they get to a city which has been under heavy alexandrian influence (a list of these would be handy), there they can go "reformed pastoralism" and from there get the "reformed parthian government." It is between these two that I am stuck.

I built reformed pastoralism on my city, glad that I would finally get some serious units, then proceeded to build "advanced settlement," which quoting "caps off the settlement building line, meaning you will recruit from the barracks" or something like that. I expected to see my government building available after this, but to my surprise there is no government building AND my settlement line is dead.

I would really appreciate if someone would explain to me what I need to do now. At first I believed it had some other requirement (trade route was my first guess), but now searching the forums I'm not quite sure. It seems I need some "settled aristocracy" building from my settlement line (which I just killed with "advanced settlement", and was, if I remember, at large settled community level =( )

Please tell me I don't have to build it all over again :(

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I'm guessing it's warlord's horse herds right

I think the barracks that come with "advanced settlement" are only available in the settlements that have the Pahlavan type I government building.

And speaking of which, I could only construct the type I government building in Persepolis and Pura. Is there something wrong with my game?

Well I figured it out myself so I think I should share.

You get the town
Demolish other government
Military Occupation
Migration
Pastoralism
then...
at least nomad market
at least settled community
at least warlord's horse herds (IMPORTANT: If you build reformed pastoralism and don't have this one you will no longer have access to it, or settled aristocracy for that, preventing you from getting the reformed government. If you messed up already demolish reformed pastoralism, then migrate again, build pastoralism again, and then get your herds)

Reformed Pastoralism
Advanced Settlement (kills settlement)
Settled Aristocracy (kills herds)
...
Reformed Parthian Government (enables MIC and other cool stuff)

Hope that helps you (and anyone else).

This should be in the FAQ :2thumbsup:

I have been playing Pahlava for some time and I managed to reach that building queue above to get Reformed Government. It is impossible to build Reformed Government in some homeland provinces like Nisa, Khiva and Alexander, Asaak, Antiocheia-Margiane, Alexanderia-Ariana (Nisa and Khiva is about Nomadism I guess). In most of my cities I am not able to build law or culture buildings necessary to support public order.
Also, I managed to build Reformed Government in Charax which is a subjugation land. However, I cannot build Reformed Gov't in other Hellen-influenced subjugation lands. I'm really confused..
After I had conquered Babylonia and Seleukeia, I was able to build all building available to Reformed Gov't. Since I destroyed Seleucids' goverments, I installed type 4 governments and now it is not possible to build anything two or three culture buildings and regional MICs.
And why is not any type 2 or 3 gov't for Pahlava? If Reformed Gov't cannot be built, there isn't any factional military or law buildings. So, I've got lots of cash and nowhere to spend it.

I think it is actually a large nomad market, and not just a nomad market.

After you have built the reformed gov building and have access to the mic, can you destroy the advanced settlement and settle aristocracy buidlings? I like being able to see what I build in a city anf they take up precious building slots for no effect.

Yes, you can.

There's a map buried somewhere in these forums that shows the regions where the reformed government can be built. Due to all this confusion, it should be included in the FAQ, though. It'd be helpful.
