As the Seleucids, I must say I completely underestimated them in my war against Carthage and got pwned by them a few times. Was a NASTY suprise.

And my own thoughts: I am terribly nervous today.

I had to read your post 5 times to understand what you've ment. And your english sucks!:clown:
The correct question would be
Anyway i ment why are they so good looking:yes:
And the answer is becouse they belong to my favourite faction:laugh4:

P.S. Don't get me wrong, it's just kind of a stereotype that italians are bad in English:laugh4:

So the consensus is that they're pretty good? I haven't played with them yet.

PS. -3 snow. lol.

They are quite cheap. They die like flies under missile fire and get owned by Numidian skirmishers. But they look way cooler of course.

I really don't like them except as a local garrison unit .

:shame: Same happened to me... was besieging a Town in Libya with an Army consisting mostly of Seleucid Levy Phalangites and Egyptian Levies plus a Hellenic Mercenary General...

Well, an Carthagian FM with 16 Garamantines came in... those naked spearmen can´t be hard i thought... but ended ub with routiging Egyptians...

I like them as garrisons too and against those Ptolemies. I usually make Garama an allied kingdom and use Garamantes to defend my Eastern frontier as they are easy to mobilize.

:shame: those naked spearmen can´t be hard i thought...

That was your first mistake, you should know by now that in EB, nakedness means they automatically have a powerlevel of OVER 9000.

yes, why dont we give them another +1 HP so they become the Gaesate of the Desert!:idea2:

However, these lads aren't up to their eyeballs in dodgy substances and I really don't think the nifty feather (ostrich?) makes up for that for the purpose of qualifying for the extra HP... :beam:

They aren't as naked, that's why they don't qualify for that extra HP.

As Romani, I use them as auxiliary units in my African campaign against the Carthaginians and I think they make a good complement to the Numidian skirmishers. A bit understrength (to say the least) against Ptolemaic phalangite-heavy raiding parties near Egypt, but I still like them.

And yes -- I think they look really cool as well!!

I use them as flankers whenever fighting in the desert. They can run all day under the blazing Sahara sun and not tire. It's not smart to trust them with holding your front line, but they make good "hit and run" infantry to compliment heavier comrades.

They aren't as naked, that's why they don't qualify for that extra HP.

So lets throw away their pants to get that extra HP, we will have a 2 HP unit of naked guys with a leopard maculate coat and two pavon plumes in the hairs, a drag-queen spear armed unit, "Priscilla, the Queen of the desert":belly:

Okay, just how do you fit the concepts "naked" and "drag queen" in the same guy simultaneously...? :inquisitive:

On a second thought, I may be better off not knowing.

But I'd sort of imagine that virile beard and the manly phallos sheath (in everyday parlance, "the sock") left sort of little to imagination anyway.

well, that leopard maculate coat and the plumes gave me the image, im very imaginative anyway:shame:

Meh they look so formidable that I overestimated them at first, Carthage sends hordes of them to attack Sardinia... not useful for much more than a garrison IMO

Ah, my apologies for voicing such slanderous suspicions concerining your keen interest in the other hairy bunch of muscular, scantily clad manly men.
I merely assumed you were in a gentlemanly search of fresh diversions.
