I want to write an AAR. Chapter I is ready but I can't figure out how to upload the images and cannot find a help page on the forum.

Hullo julius_caesar_the_first ~
There are three major options to choose from for hosting images - ImageShack (http://www.imageshack.us), Photobucket (https://www.photobucket.com) and Picdoodle (http://www.picoodle.com/). There are a few others which can be found by performing a search for "free image hosting (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=free+image+hosting&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a)", although in the past I have found them to sometimes be fairly unreliable.

Picdoodle and ImageShack don't require registration, although Photobucket does. I generally have found Photobucket the easiest to use and fastest, though, when compared with the sluggish speeds one gets at peak times with ImageShack. I've never used Picdoodle, so I can't really judge it very well. Sorry.

Good luck with your AAR ~:)

Thanks but there might be another problem. I already have chapter one written in Word with all of the images in the right place. But they exist only in Word. I deleted the originals. Did I make a verry big mistake? ( in the mean time I will be checking out these sites you gave me)

It will make the process a little harder, but its not by any means an irreversible mistake.

Firstly you need to create a new Bitmap (.bmp) file on your hard drive.

To do this right click within the place you wish to create it within Windows Explorer, and select the New menu. Once you've done that, select "Bitmap Image".

It may be advisable to place it where you know you can find it later (the "My Pictures" folder inside "My Documents" possibly is the easiest location for this).

Then, open up the new Bitmap file along with the Word document containing the pictures.

Copy a picture within Word and then paste it into the bitmap file. Save the file with a recognizable file name, and close the bitmap.

Then repeat the above steps with a different picture.

Good luck ~:)

or, you can keep the files, change them to .jpg format, then upload to a site like photobucket.com (i use that- never any problems), copy the link to it, put before it and after it and post.....
