It seems a pretty obvious assumption that the vast majority of members here are male. Usernames can be vague and ambiguous, but that's just the feeling I get from reading posts, including occassional descriptions of what wives/girlfriends think of this habit calling of ours.
What I'm wondering is (as the post title suggests), do any women play EB? If they do, do they post here?
I don't know, maybe they all prefer Vanilla RTW, where they can march full stacks of gold-chevron Screeching Women around with attack doggies slaughtering hapless males.
NB I'm not trying to use the forum as a dating service, I'm just actually interested to see what the male/female ratio of players might be. Also, please don't say you are a woman if you're not, even if you really want to be. You know who you are...

Yes, some even post here on the Forum.
Yes, they are in a very small minority, because even if they may enjoy conquering the world, most girls feel that computer games are not for them. And those that do tend to play the Sims or Dogz or the like.

Everytime I tell a girl that I got anything to do with the computer the response is a long bored sigh like I really don't want to talk about the computer its only good for Chatting, Checking E-Mail, Checking out sites that have to do with Beauty supplies, Clothing, or the Latest Celebrity gossip. Oh and the news. To me Computers seem to have the same effect on women that Lifetime and WE has on me.

for me, its the same w/ many other guys as well...... only 1 other person in my entire school of 87 kkids, 40 of them other guys, play EB. the other dismiss it as "a bad game"
the thing is, none of them have ever played EB or RTW

I know very few women who game. The one or two I've seen in games shops appear to be extremely popular. Its a truism women are less interested uin simulated slaughter and men run a mile at the mention of the word "relationship".
Maybe we need a relationships mini-game as a way of RPing the family tree a bit more? A way for the women to have a more elaborated role in influencing male FM's and each other.
Eg each factions "first lady" can bestow favour on other FM's, leading to improved loyaltyy, a better childhood, or disenchantment, and a chance to become the dreaded "evil mother-in-law". Of course the mini-game can be set to auto-manage for the misanthropes among us.
If more guys got into human stuff like relationships and more women took up more machine stuff like gaming I imagine there'd be a lower divorce rate. Or maybe more matrimonial homocide.

The best format to get girls playing is blend EB with The Sims. That is the game girls like to play. So if combining, you could set up combo boy/girl teams where the guys go out with their General and slaughter the horde of barbarians beyond the Rhine while the girls handle the city front with matchmaking and political career building in the Roman senate... much like it was in real history.
My wife likes to play EB = me having no meals
= me walking in dirty clothes
= my daughter starving
= my have to buy another PC = me have to get another job = me cant play EB
So maybe it's good she doesnt, :).

hmmm...there are men with pointed things that try to kill other men with pointed things... i dont think this appeal a woman. When we were kids, there were a platform game that my sister always played, it was called Great Giana Sisters, on the mythical Commodore 64. But i dont remember a girl going more than a platform... (now that i think on i still have to find a woman that can play chess very well)

Kekvit Irae- Assistant Mod for the Arena(subfora for non TW games), She's an interesting personality.
Proletariat-I think she's an AM of some forum, plays mafia sometimes, supposedly she's hot but I've never seen a pic.
LadyAnn- Member of the Freedom Fighters clan, mostly talks about multiplayer.
Makanye- Modder who worked on "The End of Days" and "Lycan Rising" mods.
I don't think that any of them play EB, but there are girls on this forum. In fact, they almost all seem to be in positions of power and/or highly respected.

Makanyane showed up around here and actually helped solving a CTD but I don't know if she plays EB. Proletariat is a chatroom regular. Kekvit was a modder back in MTW's heyday. frog is most credited for her complete game and unit guides for MTW... You forgot one: Tricky Lady. MTW/RTW veteran and EUIII player.
As for toughness, Proletariat and Kekvit Irae are/were in the US military.

Yes the site is down. Orthodox, an HC member who collected the donations and paid for it, seems to have disappeared (and stopped paying for the site as well). The forum however, destroyers-forum.com, is still working fine (and if it wasn't we'd make a new one). The site isn't necessary anyway (though it was nice). I guess blank just didn't have access to that section of the forum because he wasn't registered.
But let's get back on topic.
