Hi all

I think this question had been asked in the forum before but reading the thread didn't enlighten me on how to launch an island invasion.

I am playing England, trying to invade Ireland. I have a port at Wessex and a ship on a sea between Wessex and Ireland.

How can I drop my armies on Ireland?
Is the number of units I can send dependent on the number / type of ships I have?
Do I need to completely blockade Ireland?

There are no other ships belonging to other
factions on that part of the sea.

Thanks!

1) you need to have a ship or ships in a sea zone next to the province you want to invade
2)you need to have your troops in the province that has a port, and a ship in the adjacent sea zone
3)you need to have an uninterrupted line of ships between the province with troops and port, and the province that you want to invade; so no enemy ships in either of the sea zones bordering the provinces, nor in those inbetween if there are any
4) you drag and drop the armies to invade; there is no limit to the number; if you lose, ALL the survivors from your army will be destroyed/will have to be ransomed back
5) if you win, you'll need a port again to move your armies elsewhere (e.g. off of the island)

so, build a port in wales, put the troops there, place a ship in the irish sea, make sure there are no enemy ships in irish sea, invade, after you win, build a port to get out of ireland....... or, place a ship in both irish sea and the channel, and you can go there from wessex if the route is clear.....

hope this helps..... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
