As the reign of the Ptolemies comes to a close it is time to feature another wonderful culture of the ancient world. I have settled on two cultures that I think I would like to play:

https://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h301/troyboy1208/The%20Indomitable%20Nile/faction_banner_10koi.jpg
It is up to you to choose. I have played both of these factions on my own and like the fighting styles of both. Plus the roleplaying potentials are really awesome. The community of EB has been so supportive of my endeavors in the past I should hope you will lend any information you feel is important.

do the Lusitann- we have already had a KH AAR before, but not a Lusitann one..... good luck!

That was a tough choice Chirurgeon, I think a KH AAR by your good self would be pretty awesome, but as hooahguy said we have had loads of them and few Lusotannan so I say go Iberian and kick those Punic fools back to the Sands of Africa.

.
I have a semi-half finished Luso AAR but yours would be better than mine in any case, so go with the Luso!
.
Either choice is great for roleplaying aspects... for the Koinon you have rivalries between the three cities, and the Lusotannan can have a struggle between Carthage lovers and haters. Do I have to pick just one??
By the way Chirurgeon, will you write up a final chapter with Zomenes, or does the saga end there? That was epic, that last chapter. I never figured Zomenes would be power hungry like that.

I've seen more than one half-finished Lusotannan-AAR.

And you said you weren't going to do barbarians! My how you toy with my emotions Chirugeon :(
I really enjoyed the Iberian parts of Sands of Africa so anything more along those lines gets my vote :2thumbsup:
Cheers
Lusotannan, only so long as you slaughter Carthage. I hate Carthage.
Koinon Hellenon.
We have a Lusotannan AAR going on at this moment.

Lusotannan definitely!

Wow I thought it would be a closer race. 19-4 in favor of Lusitann...wonder if the KH can make a comeback. Someone said there were active KH and Lusitann AARs but I checked and those havent been updated in a long time. I don't want to step on someone elses AAR, so I tried to choose a faction that had not been done in a while. I guess i could have chosen a Makedon campaign ;) Thanks for all all the feedback!

im telling you, do a luso one- the luso one that is supposedly ongoing hasnt been updated in a while....
Barbaroi scum.
The Koinon Hellenon will forge an alliance with the Kart-Hadastim and crush you puny Iberians!

Before I vote I have a question:
Is it going to be in the journal format?
The reason I ask is beacause I am not sure if the Iberians could write:laugh4:

Well that answers may question.
I have seen you write about two civilised factions so I would be very curious to see how a barbarian AAR would be. So I vote Lusotannan.

yes, barbarian factions are fun to so, but bear in mind you have to keep our goals non-civilized..... like mine- im reuniting the tribes......

Lusotann! Sad to see that the saga of the Ptolemies is coming to a close, but I am looking forward to your magnificent Iberian AAR, Chirurgeon. :2thumbsup: :whip:
Alright, I've finally made up my mind... I vote for Lusotannan. I'd like to see how you play starting as a one-city faction instead of the relative powerhouses you used in your other AARs... Not that they're easy factions to play though (well, maybe not the Romani...). I'm sure this one will be just as great as the last three!

Koinon Hellenon is certainly a challenge. If your not careful you could lose it all in the first few turns! I played the Lusitanns in the Beta testing of EB and had a blast.

The goals are smaller with the Lusitanns but just as important for a people sandwiched between great powers.

Lusotanaan is a really cool faction. a 1-city faction with plenty of room for expansion, but the richest faction to your south: the Qarthadastim. Their cities are hard to blitz unless you are willing to go into ridiculous debt. You could also go for North Iberia, but there aren't as many units available there. The Dosidataskeli and Asturian Axemen are still awesome, but the asturians need a lv4 regional mIC, meaning a lv. 3 gov. and no Dosis
I would deffinatley like to see you do a barbarian AAR with the lusotannan. To conquer Iberia and set up your capital at Numantia. I vote Lusotannan because they are one of my favourite factions. As to you die hard Lusi lovers though the Iberians could write it seems to me they where only able to do so because of greek influence which that writing systems seems to have a lot of.

Somewhere in Wiki or elsewhere I remember reading they wrote in the Punic script as well, the southern parts' inhabitantas.

Yes I have been doing considerable reading as of late on the tribes of Iberia. The Iberians and the Celts fought relentlessly as the Celts migrated across the Pyrenees. Eventually they made peace and actually intermarried. However the Lusitanns were pushed to the extreme west of the Peninsula and remained more "pure". Clearly the remaining Iberians must be left with a bitter taste having been pushed from their traditional lands. The Lusitanns had considerable contact with Carthaginian colonies and no doubt would have been familiar with their language.

Hi Chirugeon, I've been a long time lurker and admirer of your AAR's (and MAA's And Elphir/hax's, and some more) Become a barbarian, You'll love it:yes:  I'm eagerly anticipating the start of any of these two AARs but I prefer the Iberians. Eat Bacalhau you dastardly celts:charge:

I´d love either, but I have to go for the Lusotannan´s.

Drive out the accursed celts from your homeland and then out of pure revenge take the fight to gaul.

Wow the Lusitanns have a 50 point lead in the poll. Barring a lot of Hellenephiles dropping by to vote I guess Lusitann will win. The poll closes on the 31st so vote if you haven't already done so! Is that even a word? :laugh4:

Definitely Iberia, Chirurgeon. I'm just about to take on the Lusotannan there in my Carthage campaign, so I'd be interested to see the other side of the war. Go get 'em!

Iberia would be cool for the screenshots. Greece is all hoplites and you've done Rome and Ptolemy's already. Charging AP infantry sounds so much fun to see.

I'm actually playing both at the time (last few days only Lusotanna) and I can I'm pretty sure Lusotanna would be more interesting (already so many KH AARs around) and also more fun so I vote for Lusotanna.

Iberian units are so cool - all you lack are long-range units, and Balearic slingers are locally available ~:)

Yes I plan on using those men quite readily. I used them as mercenaries in my Carthage Campaign and they have a devestating effect on slow cumbersome infantry like...Roma :)

Well the poll closes in like two hours and I am going to go ahead and call the Lusitanns victorious! They won in a landslide victory. The great struggle for Iberia begins shortly...
