Well everyone, I have an announcement to make.
As of tonight, Ajax is officially engaged to be married. I proposed to the girl I've
been dating for almost a year, and with whom I'd been close friends for about
two years prior to that, and she accepted. We're planning to have our
ceremony June 4, just after school lets out, at the Mormon temple in Manti,
Utah. I'm a little scared, a little nervous, very excited, and ecstatically in love.

Congratulations!
I felicitate you. I wouldn't recommend having a big wedding, though: far better to save the money and do it small.... you can then give the money you were possibly planning to spend on a bigger wedding to me >:)

Congratulations, Ajax. May it bring many happy moments for the both of you.
Not to worry you or anything but is that fear in her eyes or just uneasyness when facing a camera?
I think she looks somewhat shy but that also makes me think she is a very nice person. :2thumbsup:

Congratulations! May many happy years follow!
Congratulations! :balloon2: I've been engaged for longer than you two have been dating, and since we don't even have a date set I'll be outlasting you to the altar. I feel like Johnston facing Sherman, and I fear the outcome will be the same. ~D

Thank you for the warm feelings, everyone! Yes, she is quite shy (we're both introverts), but she's the kindest and most principled person I know. I'll let you know how things go in June (well, I'll post when I get a chance anyhow--I imagine that month will be fairly hectic).

You couldn't wed in a better month than June, which includes the holiest, most remarkable, most influential, most... well, words cannot describe:Mouzafphaerre's birthday! ~D

Trust me, my friend -- you can't imagine what that month will be like til it actually arrives. There is simply no comprehending the swirling madness of last-minute pre-nuptual preparations until you're in the middle of it! :laugh4:
Looks like a real cutie, ajaxfetish. Congratulations! Marriage can be a lot of fun, and I wish you both the best.

Congratulations! She looks like a great catch. Well done. :balloon2:
May the two of you enjoy a long and happy marriage.
Uhm, my interest in the following is entirely academic, and sorry for being so bold, but do you mean with 'school' that you'll marry straight out of high school? And, to be even bolder yet, did the two of you 'save' yourselves for each other? Just curious - after all, you are a native from strange and exotic lands to me.

No harm in academic curiosity, Louis. By school I mean undergraduate college. We should both be getting bachelor's degrees this spring. I'm a few years older (24 vs. 21) because I served an LDS mission between my freshman and sophomore years. If by 'save' ourselves for each other you're talking about virginity, then you've definitely stumbled into my strange and exotic land. It's a standard expectation within Mormonism, and I'm reasonably confident the answer is yes on both our parts (not that I would consider that a necessary criterion in choosing a partner). Future plans include working and saving for a year while applying to graduate school, and then letting the winds of admissions committees direct our course.
Ajax
Wait, do you have 24 years? Are you marring too young?
