I just bought the game from someone for $15 w/o the manual and I assumed that it would be on the disk to print out but it is not.

I am doing ok w/o it but I'd like to read it nonetheless.

Does anyone have it in pdf or even text?

Thanks.

Excuse me while my skepticism works a little overtime!!

Contact the publisher. That'd be, umm, Activision? They'll probably ask that you send them the game, to be sure it's a valid disk. Then you'll probably have to pay $5 to $10 for the manual.

That's been my experience on how to replace a missing manual and/or CD key. (I bought Neverwinter Nights, and the manual came without a CD Key. I had to ship the manual to the publisher. They shipped me back a new manual, free, because it was a defect on their end. However, in your case, you bought a non-retail version. Thus, you'll probably have to pay.)

Yeah, sorry, pay up or go buy the strategy guide or something.

Just to clarify:

When I said the original poster had a non-retail version, I meant "the box had been opened already." I do not imply that I believe he is lying.

As stated in my example, it's entirely possible. Sellers of used software do weird things. (I bought a used copy of Sims: House Party on eBay. Seller shipped it, without the box, in an envelope. Cracked case, scratched CD, worthless game. And my one-and-only negative on eBay. Grrr.... So, anything's possible if you buy used.)

Anyway, I bought the game used, myself. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Ignoring the debate over whether TG's game is Kosher or not...

TG, you are missing next to nothing by not having the manual. You'll be OK just reading through the posts here and checking out all the tooltips and playing the tutorials in the game.

Well, i've bought it in "juwel" box. It's the only way you can get it fast here in russia. The price is 20$. It's just a disc with registration form. There is no manual there. And yes, i'd love to have one. I'm ready to pay for it. It's just impossible yo find it here in Russia.

It would just be nice to get a big fat high quality pretty picture of the tech tree, manual be damned. Then I could make it the wallpaper on my computer!

yup

I needed really quite a time till I discovered that in order to buil a horse breeder you need improved farmland.

My german version had a manual but it didn't have a tech tree as in shogun though.

They really should have shipped a magnifying glass with that tech tree. On the backside, I can't read the names of the units, the print is so small!
