Forgive me please if this is deep in the threads somewhere.....
But why can't I move my own troops using my ports? I have no enemy ships in any waters nearby or in the way...I can move emissarries and other agents no problem...but can't move my own troops..... Help an oltimer out with this newfangled game!

Yep, this ain't Shogun. Link the two ports with ships (one ship in each sea is enough), but remember you need a shipbuilders guild (and a foundry) to obtain ships which will move into the deep oceans.
Happy sailings
PS Some smart-arse is going to tell you this is all in the manual. Just tell them to .....
Yes drag and drop...
But not on your ships http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
drop them on the province you want to move to or invade, but you can't invade if any other factions ship is around.

oh ok... Thanks fellas...so I need two ships in the waters of each port? Is that it? then I can send....and I am playing as the almohads so I guess I had better get my shipbuilding up to par....Those little dhows are just to pester the other fleets I guess.....I thank you for your help!

No, you only need one ship in each zone, from your port to the province (not the port), if there is just one other ship of another faction it will stop an invasion, but not movement between provinces.

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you on the field of battle, and hear the lamentation of their women.
