View Full Version : During Battles: Unit Cards Disappear?

It's late and as I said in my campaign questions thread earlier, I did not intend on playing tonight.

That said, I couldn't resist at least a couple of custom battles quick :whip:

I've noticed something that occurs sometimes during battles, specifically during sieges: A massive lagging out of nowhere (when there was none prior...no matter what the troop size/number was) and the unit cards disappearing (on the bottom of my screen...where it lists all units in my army currently).

Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks...

I'd hate to have to worry about this during my campaign, and it has me well...a little worried now ...heh.

Do the cards themselves disappear, or just become blank? I have the problem that sometimes the pictures off my unit cards disappears so they just appaer blank. I just group and ungroup all my units, which seems to fix that problem.

I have encountered the problem described by Brave Sir Robin, but not the whole series of cards disappearing! :inquisitive:

I've seen the blank cards, usually caused by alt tabbing to the desktop and grouping and ungrouping any two units fixes this, but never seen the card disappear altogether.

Lags in sieges are usually caused by a large number of men trying to squeeze through a gate at once.

Me too - blank cards can be fixed by grouping/ungrouping some units. Switching to another screen (like desktop) usually causes this glitch, and sometimes (at least on my machine) freezes the game entirely, so it's necessary to reload (and start the battle over, which will typically occur in different terrain). The other time I've regularly gotten this problem was having virus and other "watchdog" programs interrupt the game for an alert - now I put them on standby or "game mode" before I open the game.

Thanks guys...

1) Alt-Tabbing: I was doing this regularly. I have tried several huge multi faction custom battles and have yet to have this problem again...

2) I did have some anti spyware programs running in the background.

3) I switched my graphics card to displaying antialiasing x2 at all times, as opposed to "program specific".

Thanks again
