Thought I'd ask for some general advice and see what everyone else uses / recommends.

I've been using Pegasus forever, but my working version has got corrupted, keeps deciding its got "invalid offset in index record" for various folders, and keeps deleting my 'main' folder where all the stuff I haven't filed yet resides - :wall: irritating that one.

Seems beyond me to fix so tried making a separate install of a more up-to-date version of Pegasus, I can't persuade that one to look up my
me@RipOffISP.com
post box at the moment, it will only look up my default admin user account on the ISP. If I try adding anything before the @ which is what worked before to split out various different boxes within the same account, it tells me its an invalid address.

So um, any idea how to fix either of above?

Or recommendations for other clients that are easy to set up to only collect from specified mail-boxes within an account? (not Outlook please...)

If your looking for a new client you could always give Mozilla's Thunderbird (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/) a try. You may also wish to add Mozilla's Lightning (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/2313) extension to the application for calendaring and organisational tasks.

It's comparable to Firefox when it comes to customisability and theming in particular - although the add-on database isn't quite as large. It's also fairly secure when compared to Outlook Express and similar Windows technologies and receives frequent security and stability updates.

You can find a full list of features here (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/features.html).
