View Full Version : Teutonic textures for M2TW HRE!!!
I just got about a quarter of some teuton skins done. There will be Ritterbruder style swordsmen among crossbowmen, armoured sergeants, etc.:beam:
Also will be changing the cavalry.:yes:
I wont be doing Hundred Years War mod because I cant map at all after I tried all night last night it didnt do me any good.:book: :no::wall: So I will be making skins, improved weather, vegetation, etc.:beam:
Anyway, order any different skins you want and I can do that. I dont know for sure but to use new textures, weather, vegetation, etc, I think you will need 1.2 version and have all you files unpacked.:yes:
I just got done working on some textures for RTW and will resume with meh teutons tommorow.:beam: A additional note: I will make a installer for my skin, textures, etc, and I think Ill have a uninstaller for it so if you dont like the new stuff you can revert back to the older files. Also the teuton skin will OVERRIDE the amoured sergeants, dismounted feudal knights, crossbowmen, militia, etc. I hope to make a mod just for a teuton faction, with their own units, instead of writing over the HRE's units.

I also wanted some suggestions on units and costs for a new faction, Ritterbruder? Dismounted Hallbrudder? Order spearmen? Please comment.:yes:

And possibly both Dismounted and mounted Halbruder.:beam: And there own faction with capital in Marienburg(Ill freshen my history but I think that was their capital after it was destroyed in the Holy Land.)

Hi, Lemons. If nothing else I can offer my moral support and wish you good luck in this undertaking(I always tell people I'm nontech and that modders like you exist on a higher level somewhere). You seem to have a pretty good handle on the Teutonic Order(together with the HRE my favorite faction for this period). Somehow, though, it seems strange to me to have any of these units equipped with firearms. I guess I'm just used to the Alexander Nevski version of the Order. I like the heavy cavalry with those big helmet ornaments, so I would hope to see a lot of those in your mod.

In case you didnt know the Teutons lasted until the 1500's when they lost most power. That was well into the invention of the musket and matchlock, so gunpowder units shouldnt suprise you. Only the Ock-uh-booze-ee-a will be gunpowderers.:laugh4:
Also yeah, I will look at the kingdoms textures to see how they put those ornaments in there because I like them.:yes:
Also I will probably add order pikemen.:beam: They are good strategic units.:yes:
Anyway, I think I might delay release so I can add an entirely new faction, because the Teutons were a "Important" Order. I wont be delaying very long on this because I am a Teuton fanatic and would love to start playing them right now.:beam: :yes:
I gotta wait till I buy gold inside of a month, because I want to see how those helmet ornaments were installed.:yes: I just have to edit textures instead of the 3d models, because I dont have 3dsmax or milkshape and both of those cost money I aint gonna spend. They aint worth that much to me.
Anyway, please give any suggestions or comments to help me in this "mod".
When I think of the Order I tend to think of the version I saw in the movie Alexander Nevski. The battle on the ice happened early in the 13th century so the Knights would not yet have had access to gunpowder units. I personally think this is the more glamorous version of the Order but maybe someone else will take issue with that assessment.

Yeah, I decided that gunpowder units for the teutons is axed. Im not going to waste time on them. Also I have had a severe sickness the past couple days, so work is going to be delayed about a week. Sorry.:no: :embarassed:
No need to apologize for that. Just concentrate on getting well. Your health is numero uno(did I need to tell you that?). The game, the modding and we will all be here whenever you get back to this project; we're not going anywhere.
Sorry about the delay, I FINALLY overcame a serious modding problem today. Now to clarify what else needs to be done, to add a faction(Teuton), as far as I know Vanilla is maxed so I will have to override one. What will it be? Timurids, Mongols, or Aztecs. To some people this would seem rather odd to think of the Teutons as a aztec faction, but it is not how it sounds.:yes: :beam:
I should have this released with 1 1/2 months although, I hope much sooner. I still have to figure out how to use this 3deditor, so I can add the helmet ornaments to the Ritterbruder.:yes: :beam:
Because the override factions I mention might have scripts somewhere, I will take out a main faction for the teutons. Suggestions on which one you dont want would be appreciated.:yes: :beam:
Or if you want, I can just add these units to the HRE roster, although a seperate faction would be much more realistic, and would be better.
Im going to release the Ritterbruders, Crossbowmen, and Spearmen soon. The ritterbruders wont have ornaments on their helmets yet, until I figure out this 3d editor I need to work with.:juggle2:
I know this was supposed to be done weeks ago, but I have been working on a couple mods and cant seem to find the time to get enough work on all of them done. Well I am now working full force to get this done and it should be done soon. I am sorry for keeping you all waiting such a long time, because it is not fair to say I was going to have this done sooner.:embarassed: Please wait just a little longer.
There were quite a bit of features I wanted in the first release but seeing they are taking too long version 1 will be kind of a short small one, but I got it almost done. Here are a couple of previews for the units. Keep in mind these are going to bee improved much more and have much more variation in v2.
