Sultan Ali I of Egypt is 41. He has spent his entire adult life fighting the Italians. The only problem is, he loses a lot. The more he loses, the more he loses, if you get my drift. His V&V's are

Famous Warrior
Unhinged Loon
Coward
Retreats Often
Bad Defender
Poor Attacker

For a grand total of -16 Morale!! It is almost impossible for his army to stay long enough on the field to join combat - they normally flee now just at the sight of the army of his nemesis, Admiral Machiavelli of Arabia (9 command). If that wasn't bad enough, his 3 young sons are all alcoholics, small wonder when their dad has been driven all the way back from Cyrenacia to Edessa. Still, you would have thought the AI would have figured out to remove him from the front line before he does any more damage to his empire...

I've had that before... a seemingly powerful empire totally collapses when their King picks up a Coward or Good Runner vice, and they insist on continuing to use him in all their major offenses and defenses despite having higher star generals with no combat vices.

Aye, I was trying to figure out how the AI was going to remove your general from the front lines.
