Servus,
I stumbled across a useful trick Maybe everyone else was way ahead of me on this one.
I always deployed my scorpions just ahead of my line. They would soften the enemy and then they would have to push the damn things back behind the line not to get slaughtered.
I found that by hitting the melee attack button and pointing towards the enemy they will leave the catapults. Then as soon as they do I have them scamper back behind the legionaries. (I am picturing the British artillery crews heading for the safety of the squares during the cavalry charges at Waterloo) This lets them get in extra shots and not get chopped to bits.
Is this common knowledge? I wish I had known it a year or so ago if it is.
