The last thread appeared during the last Ashes, with English Assassin (IIRC) apologising for our team's ineptness. The last few splutterings of life in that thread invoilved the Brit celeb dancing show, "Strictly Come Dancing", with me marvelling at the fecunidty of the "Gorgeous Mark Ramprakash" thread on their forums. It's currently on 133,888 posts and 2,027,721 views, at an average of 278.9 posts and 4224.4 views per day. Even Bradman and Hobbs would be impressed by these figures.

I bet most of those views were from Bangladesh or Zimbabwe. Bradman never had Zimbabwe to score views off.

Alright, that was the lamest imaginable cricket joke. I'm going to go hang myself now...

In actual Cricket news was anybody else shocked and appalled by the performance in Wellington?

Almost as bad as the Aussies last night! Congrats to India on finally getting some points on the board. They were ripped off due to rain in the first game. :2thumbsup:

And in case your wondering... Brit living in Australia so I only see Australian games, it sucks!

Why would you want to watch the Poms anyway?

Cos I'm English! And for a change... I'm getting bored with hearing comments like; quote from yesterdays game Australia 6 down for less than 100, 'Theres still plenty of batting to come' from Bill Lawry! :-p

I'm Australian, but England's my second favourtie team. But I would like Australia to lose a test series soon, as it's bad for cricket if Australia wins everything.

My point exactly, I've got nothing against Australia (unlike my little brother) but we usually support the other team simply for interests sake. It gets boring when one team always wins, even if they are easily the best team.

BTW the Kiwis are spanking the English ATM. :skull:

ENGLAND 148-8 (32 overs)

Cook 53 (run out)
Bell Golden Duck (caught behind)
Shah 0 (bowled)

are the scores worth mentioning. Martin and Mason have two each, Vettori and Mills 1, and two runouts.

Edit: update, due to rain delays match has been shortened to 36 overs. England all out for 158, NZ chasing 165 to win... lol

(Gotta love the Duckworth-Lewis system)

I agree that the Aussie (cricketers) need to lose as they are so far up themselves it is not funny. They have been behaving like boorish little children for sometime now.

They are great to watch when playing, but only on mute as the commentators are rabidly fanatical and sadly delusional at the same time.

Note that not ALL the Aussie cricketers are like this and this is not directed at Australians themselves - just the cricketers. I think that the All Blacks fall into this same "arrogant - poor sportsmanship" category - but at least choke at the big occasions.

Also, at least our cricketers (NZ) lose more than their fair share :laugh4:

But sorry England that NZ team is the worst we have had in 15 years. I still pick an English routing of the Blackcaps in the test, but for now I will bask in the Kiwi glory of the past 2 ODI's (and try and forget the carnage heaped on us in the Twenty20's)

Don't worry we hate the commentators over here as well. Especially the ones who like their home state just a little more than is healthy...

Sigh. And I'd like to apologise again. Losing by ten wickets. To New Zealand.

The rugby's up the spout too. Even the bloody world darts champion is Welsh. At this rate we'll only be world class in Morris dancing.

Well last night was some game...

680 runs scored and still no winner!!! A TIE!!!

Some very good batting and sadly some poor umpiring that should have given the Game to the English.

But 340 runs each in 50 overs is astounding...

That was a days cricket!

First session all England
Second all New Zealand and then
Last Session all England again and on the basis of it points decision to England.

Can not wait for day two.

Are the English even interested - or was the first tets just too painful?

It is pretty good to watch and Ambrose looks the goods...

A good test and won deservedly by England. The highlights being a century in his second test to Ambrose and the bowling of Anderson and Sidebottom.

Roll on game three - it has been a good series so far with neither team really dominating the other (apart from the Collingwood/Ambrose partnership in this game).
