I just finished a battle as Aedui vs SPQR. SPQR army was barely made of free slaves with only few mercenaries, and mine was a strong army made of experienced troups (lv 6 and more).
.... here's the result... http://astolat.free.fr/images/imagesite/593.jpg
I don't mind the funny result but... I still don't understand. I had a complete army, every unit was full of men... they.. they...

I don't understand what your problem is.

Check out the bug report and technical help forum, wasn't there a problem with the freed slave lethality? I'm pretty sure bovi put a quick fix up for it.

Theres the link, download "Apeleutheroi nerf."

Crow and be happy that nearly the half of your fallen men recovered! :eyebrows:
You ain't dreaming...
1. As johnhughthom says, the original freed slaves can be highly bad-ass...install the 1.0 apeleutheroi fix and you'll feel better.
2. At least six of your units don't look like they're experience level 6 or above
3. Any thoughts about your tactics?
4. You won!

1) i'll do it ;)
2)some of them were 4 or 5. some lost xp! including death of a general with 4 stars, and 4 xp :furious3:
3) My tactic was good. thought. I've won a hardier battle just before (against experienced roman army maniples) losing just a hundred men... same place.
4)as it is my first years of campaign as Aedui, i've got only one army.... I won, but, what a cost!:shame:

AHAHAHHAA!!! YU SUX!!
*Remembers all my own humiliating defeats against revolting cities with freed slaves* ... *Shuts up*
Really, those Apeleutheroi are vicious. And the stones they use, got to be specially imported or something, for no normal stones can do that much damage. I´d love to see the Apeleutheroi at a modern day riot, they would kick the riot police asses, and probably take over the whole city.
Pent up agression do that.

XD lol.
The lethality is WAY above normal. My experienced Roman legions got chewed up by an apeleutheroi fullstack from Carthage too. Then I quit the game, changed the lethality (from 0.9 to 0.005) and reloaded the battle. Clear victory with only 3 men hurt. Talk about a difference.

That's Willi Chevalier, of the Sigmaringen Beard Club, the undisputed champion of the partial beard category in the World Beard and Moustache Championships. Whether or not aftzengeier really is his partially-bearded highness, I do not know. Perhaps he has moved from Sigmaringen to the Danish-German border.
