View Full Version : Trouble Adding RAM
I added a small amount of RAM to my mother's PC, and now it wont turn on properly. The monitor lights flicker and nothing happens. I removed the RAM and the same thing happens. I think it might be because I agitated the dust and its breaking connectivity in the circuits.
Any other ideas?

I would suggest clearing up the dust with a vacuum cleaner, removing all RAM modules, waiting a little bit for the possible static electricity to discharge, then put on the original RAM and see if it works. If it does, I would repeat the whole process except vacuum cleaner with the new module, then both modules together.
It's not a rare case that two or more supposedly compatible RAM modules deny operating together. That's why it's a good idea to make it sure they are compatible in every way and are of the same brand.

Thanks, that fixed the problem. :2thumbsup:
