View Full Version : Top ten rejected units for new expansion pack
Forward Observer

The following new units did not make the final cut for the expansion pack:
1. Junior Samurai Woodchuck Patrol (Remember how long it took to get your first severed head merit badge.)
2. No-Dachi Yo-mama Homeboys
3. United Steelworkers Local #46
4. Rump Rangers (ah--nope, I won't go there)
5. Mounted Yari Clown Unit (really fun in parades)
6. Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (un-mounted I think)
7. Screamin' Yellow Yahoos
8. Warrior Jehovah's Witnesses
9. Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers
10. Inbred booger eatin' Rednecks (Very popular in my home state.)
It is a crying shame these were cut, but I hear there is still a chance for two of my favorites: The A-team with Mr. T or the Hojo Hooters.
Cheers

Forward Observer you came up with a great topic i really had a good time reading your post.I laughed much after reading it can you come up with some other ones i really like them.

Nice one, FO!
I think it's a shame the battlefield geisha never made it. She would have been great for lulling the enemy daimyo into a false sense of security while you carry out that tricky outflanking manoever, and for R+R when the timer runs out...
Personally Forward, I'd rather see the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders "mounted" http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
I've been married long enough that that's as close as it gets anymore! lol

I warned you, but did you listen? Ohh, no...it's just a harmless little bunny, isn't it?

LOL! Great topic FO and great list. I personally wouldn't want to face #3. May I add:
11) Lawyer Monks (expensive to buy)
12) Warrior Drunks (always "wavering")
13) Shinobi (Door-to-Door) Salesmen

And a Kensai-like unit that missed the boat was Wayne Newtonsuki's Flying Elvis corps. Each Flying Elvis could 'entertain' the enemy army and strike them down after a long night of partying like a hounddog...

Let's see I know they rejected:
10. Ah-64 Yari attack helicopter
(developers thought "long bow" feature seemed appropriate)
9. M1A1 Mongol Battle tank
(figured to be the best way to balance out the monks)
8. The Korean Trebuchet
(they thought mixing time periods was a bad thing)
7. Mothra heavy cavalry
(would have done this but the midget singing women were too hard to model)
6. The Kensai w/ "the Force" light saber
(all the kiddies will be disappointed)
5. Mecha-Streisand
(the Wave files involved nasally music, would have had to add Robert Smith)
4. The Battlefield SEAL team
(apparently unbalanced the game unlike other stealth units)
3. The Heidi Fliess Geisha
(too distracting)
2. Chi-Com boarder patrol skirmishers
(they collided with terrain too much)
1. The Polaris ICBM "Thunder Bomb"
(they felt it added a little too much fun)

I know that unit
The Bovine Operational Secret Service Yeoman unit or B.O.S.S.Y. for short. They give new meaning to the term "mad cow" LOL

For thousands of years they have been butchered. Now it is their turn...
Although good for BEEFing up your army, they were left out because they cost too much KOWku. They were also COWards that couldn't run so they were always UTTERly destroyed.
When you placed the mouse pointer over a Bovine unit it was always "Moooooving".
They were originally part of the Mongol Herds.
I've MILKED that picture for more than I should have.

Soly:
Is that meant to be a pantomime cow or a real cow?

But back to the subject, i heard that at the last minute they decide not to include the mother-in-law "nag" ita as a tactical unit. She was used to push high honour taishos to commit seppuku.
nice one FO..
I would like to see the Warrior Jehovahs Witnesses and the Warrior drunks fight each other..... classic

(the cow is from the secret level in Diablo II, damn game - moo...moo...moomoo....moo mooo..NONONONON)
The best thing to do is use them to hold the river-line, when they die the enemy can't get over them...

The Bovine unit is even better than Nags at absorbing enemy missile fire. The archers and gunner can't kill the Bovine, only graze them. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
On the downside, when the Bovine rout, it is a stampede.
