Hey guys, I picked up playing EB 1.0 a few days ago. I've played. .8 quite avidly but never got down to playing 1.0. Anyways, when I tried to open the cheat menu to toggle the fog of war, I noticed it won't open. So after trying near;y all I know, I turn to you. People of the org, please help me open the Rome-Shell.

maybe the key is broken?

Or you're keyboard layout has changed, try stuff like # and @, mash the keyboard man!
There is no difference between the key used in vanilla RTW, EB 0.8 or EB 1.0 though.

The console works well in EB 1.0, so the problem must be with your PC or your keyboard (it is always the key left to the "1").

Omfg, I just noticed my console has gone awol in vanilla and BI aswell:wall: , any suggestions now. It clearly has to do with either my computer or my install. So sorry to burden you guys with it, but I hope someone can help me.

It could be that your OS suddenly decided to set a different keyboard layout as a standard. Very convenient. Had that happen to me once.

Does the "~" show up if you are typing in wordpad, when you press that button? If a different sign comes up, you probably have a keyboard lay-out issue. Can be easily corrected, by just going to the control panel.

Or does nothing show up? Then part of your keyboard might be dead.

Usually some weird combination of "Fn" "Ctrl" "Alt" and "Shift" (not neccesarily all of them) fixes it. However, from my experiences with this kind of stuff; if the tilde can't be found under the default key, it likely now resides under the + or - key. (With or without shift key.) It get's real funky when you are used to often typing non-standard text such as code: try to find the curly brackets if you can - me never found them until the keyboard layout switched back again...
