Greetings!
I am playing my first campaign in EB1.0, using the ALX executable. I installed all the permanent fixes.
Inspired by some of the superb stories in this forum, I selected the Saby'n.
My game plan was to conquer Ethiopia, recruit some elephants, and go to war with the Ptolemies. With the provinces of Diamat, Kush and Erythraia under my control, I looked in the recruitment viewer to see what buildings were needed for elephants... and found that no elephant units are available to the Sab'yn.
A glance through export_descr_buildings.txt seems to confirm this.
So, is, for example, The Errant's excellent Sab'yn strategy guide incorrect regarding elephants? Is the recruitment viewer misleading me? Or have the African elephants been removed for historical accuracy?
If they were removed, is it straightforward to mod them back in? I tried making the "obvious" edits to export_descr_buildings.txt and export_descr_unit.txt, but the recruitment viewer showed no changes.
My thanks to anyone who can enlighten me.
