Caius has dropped out due to technical issues, currently Ramses II CP is the only active participant. It would be a shame for him to win by default as his AAR is of good quality.

Thanks Tom0. There's really no hurry, perhaps someone else will show up in due course, and in the mean time I can take a bit more time to try to polish out the last few sections.

Ha ha, yh people had their AARs, saw yours and had a mental breakdown and are now on overload to improve theirs :p

I haven't dropped out yet, though I think I need a little more time with mine, if that's alright. Is it only three of us left?

The Wandering Scholar
02-26-2008, 16:52
Take all the time you like, i'm a little bogged down at the moment so mine will be a while.

Ramses II CP

I don't think there's any reason to be in a hurry. I still have to wrap mine up.

Part 4 is up, nice update Ramses

Ramses II CP

Thanks Tom0, just one or maybe two more updates. After that last battle it's mostly just boring attrition fights, with maybe one more good one.

I am debating whether to complete your full set Ramses before moving on to mine/ Quirinus' what do you guys think?

Quirinus
02-28-2008, 11:35
I'd say, since Ramses II CP is updating pretty regularly and has only a couple of updates left, I'd say, complete his set first, since neither of us are well on our way anyways.

By the way, excellent AAR, Ramses. Mine pales pathetically to yours..... :shame: Not that I'm quitting, of course. =)

Thanks Quirinus, I'm still trying to wrap it up in a satisfactory manner. I'm very much looking forward to reading everyone's contributions! As far as the order of them, it wouldn't bother me if mine were split up. That's just the nature of a forum really, so no need to wait if I don't finish in time. :2thumbsup:

I shall give you two hours  Might aswell wait, it will give me and Quirinus time to get ours together.

Another glorious update Ramses. You took a real beating at the hands of the mongols. I can't wait for your revenge.

ps I was only joking about two hours which I think you know. :beam:

When I started that last battle I actually had a little bit of a hope that those mercenary spearmen could hold the Mongols. They were relatively expensive, their defensive stats were better than my usual spearmen, and I hadn't used them before. Obviously I was very, very wrong. Fortunately I had decided not to put any of my good quality archers in that stack.

Oh, and that all javelins battle. Ugh. I spread them out very wide and kept them from routing long enough for them to heavily pincushion the two Mongol generals, they just couldn't friggin' kill one. Not even one!

Tier 1 troops just can't even scratch the Mongol elite, which is the way it should be IMHO.

Part 6 is up. Is that the end Ramses?

Ramses II CP
02-29-2008, 14:46
That's the end. I didn't slap a big 'The End' tag down, but I hit the victory condition and was ready to try a different faction. :laugh4:

Any comments are welcome. :2thumbsup:

My favourite was that battle with the all-elephant army. That was cool, and fitting, since the title of your AAR is "Send In The Elephants". :beam:

What were your victory conditions? Destroy the Mongols?

Ramses II CP
03-01-2008, 05:46
In Broken Crescent the victory condition is 60 provinces. I was at 52 or 54 when I finished the Mongols, so I just smacked around the Seljuks and Ghorids for the last few, ignoring my reputation hit. After those unholy Mongol stacks even the usually fairly tough BC armies weren't much trouble.

I think my favorite battle was actually the siege battle. I went into that expecting to win, expecting the buggy AI to handicap it's vastly superior soldiers so they wouldn't even have a chance. When they crushed me it was awesome, really like a whole new way of playing TW. I could lose now, and not just throw away field battles with militia, but cities I meant to hold.

Fun stuff. If you haven't tried Broken Crescent, it's a spectacular mod. Highly enjoyable. :2thumbsup:

Hey Tom0, didn't recognize you at first.

I think my pc won't make problems to play RTW, except an internal strike. Might as well try to send you what I've done before those all problems.

Glad to have you onboard Caius.

Tom0 / The Wandering Scholar. I am also going to be submitting something. Am writing it up now. It's for RTW and a specific mod.

The Wandering Scholar

OK, just PM when you have it then i'll add it to the storage thread, will it be in parts or as a whole?

Caius

Add my intro.

The Wandering Scholar

I am attempting to keep it neat ie when a whole aar is sent to me, it will be submitted. Makes them easier to read.
