another hour, another BORED
don't EA know it's a bank holiday? i got nothing to do! a day of work and come home to NOTHING
so far i've perfected defeating Expert AI, 2 vs 1 (2 clans, 10,000 koku to my 5000) on catilinarium (very nice map if i do say so myself http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif ) and i'm nearing desperate need of some online action.
Anyone fancy a game of "GET THE SERVERS BACK ONLINE!" ?

the servers were down for one of four things...maintainence, testing, upgrages or physical crashes (as opposed to the normal software crashes). i say this because the servers have a built-in process for auto-reboot, which normally only takes 2 minutes or less.

maintainence normally doesnt take more than an hour or so and most systems have built-in redundancy for physical or 'hard' crashes. so, i suspect the servers were purposefully taken offline for testing under actual server conditions.

since when you tried to log on it gave the message 'logging on...', it meant, i think, that you had found the gateway. but you never got to the message 'logged on' which means the servers were disconnected from the gateway.

if it was for testing then i agree a notice would have been nice.

Guess we should be finding out what's going on and such in the next few hours. I expect around the time that I go to bed and your people in Europe get back from Lunch or get home from work.

(They turn the servers back on right after I post something dreadful just to spite me and so that people can laugh at how my post was made 5 minutes before they did good.
So, I won't be waiving my arms in the air right at this moment and screaming orders at anyone, or crafting a 5,000 word 20 page Systems Administrator Beliefs doctrine to make the EA Europe people live by until death. ) http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif
