Eurovision? *sighs*
It's all good and all, but I find that voters only go for those singers that have good looks rather than those bands that have a good, well written song. Also, the kids version of it is always won by the girl-bands, and mainly those under 12. Which makes you suspicious. :inquisitive:
I remember a Belgium (I think it was Belgium) rock band that had a very good song, but they finished almost in last place.

Not to mention that its very political. Since all the new eastern european nations began entering it, hardly any western european songs do well. I think last year in the top 12 (out of 24) only Germany? made it (and they were 11th!). So long as England/UK don't get nul point again its all good.

The irish entry is great!
Really fits the contest very well.

Two minor things I didn't like about the icelandic entry:
1. It's too dark, I want to see more of them girls' nice hairstyles
2. there's this annoying music

Where would we be without the idealistic Eurocentric mince, the nauseating
festivities; our collective cultural meltdown disguised by ear-bleedingly awful
madness? The foreign presenters who deserve a firing squad, the petty political
voting over appreciation of music - where else would we be without this terrible
musical addition, to good old backstabbing, that is Eurovision? Killing each other,
that's where!

I heard about the Irish entry some time ago, listening to my radio in stunned
disbelief.

Still prefer 'My lovely horse'.

Because some bright spark came up with a drinking game "drink with every cheesy key change" Since then Eurovision has become exceptionally popular.

I hate how political it is too.

The Ireland song is about as bad a song can be. They [i]really[i] don't want to host it again do they

Hey! There's aboslutely nothing wrong with HTF!! :whip:

(Well okay, there's actually a *lot* wrong with it, but that's besides the point. It's still highly entertaining. ~;p)

I mentioned HTF since I somehow found a link to it from the Eurovision video. I felt much, much better after watching HTF. :sweatdrop:

Has anyone else heard that Bill Bailey is putting himself forward for the British nomination? I really hope so, because whatever he does would be absolutely hilarious and fantastic!

No Bailey, alas. Methinks he's in the land of Oz, touring.

These are the cretins to pick from. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/eurovision/)

Yes, they are. Raz was talking about eurosong for kids.

Behold, and brace yourselves, for here comes Finland's entry for ESC08: Teräsbetoni - Missä miehet ratsastaa (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLI4pl8YU9Y)

(I'll be the first to admit that the band has much better songs besides that one, but it's still a good one considering the alternatives we had)

Well, considering it's Eurovision, that's not exactly terrible.
