Here we go again - it's March by my clock exactly...NOW! (verbatim from last month...)

Anyway you guys probably know the rules but:
-No massive cropping
-1 screen only
-EB screens only
-Nothing against the org rules
-Submission must be posted before deadline (the 21st)

That the best may win or something.

BTW, here to start you off is a different perspective from most EB screenshot pics:

Here's my first contribution. It's nothing special, but it was a good moment - the fall of Darioritum and the beginning of my campaign against the Aedui.

Thought so too, or at least as close as you can get to the old Persian heavy cavalry, could be wrong though? anyway, charge of the Persians was easier to write then charge of the early Armenian bodyguard :beam:

and thanks for the nice comments

If it's the kinsmen cavalry than it's a good title I thought it was the nakharar cavalry

Two more nice pictures.
Animal cruelty - no, elephants love water and after a huge battle, bath is the best relax, it's only their stupidity, that they leave their trunks underwater (or maybe they are drinking) :laugh4:

Emporor Burakuku's picture features the old, extremely ugly trees. I'm sure the picture was taken in northern Italy / alpine Region. No offence intended, I just wanted to point that out. (Glad I'm not the only one)

None taken, it's true. It was taken during my old campaign and I think it's Makedonia if I'm right... I remember that it was a fight against Epeiros or Makedonia... Could be Patavium also. Don't remember exactly. My old video card makes thing even more complicated (when taking screenshots) because if I go with the video details on high the game is unplayable so... Sharp observation anyway.

The easiest way is to download fraps (http://www.fraps.com/) and use that. But it's not necessary - you can also hit print screen, and then open up MS Paint, Photoshop or any such program, and then hit ctrl+v. The downside with that is that if you don't save your picture before you hit print screen again, the first picture will be lost forever.

That's how you do it. It's highly recommended that you turn banners off and have no unit visible in the picture selected (or just turn of the green arrows). Also recommended is using the minimal_ui on, and hit F5, F6 twice and F7. That way the only thing left that you need to remove from the picture is your mouse cursor, which you can easily do by putting it for example in the blue sky, and then painting over it with the same shade of blue. Just cropping it out works too, but you get more of the action in the picture this way.

what happened to the FEB contest?

Teleklos Archelaou
03-12-2008, 13:12
There is so much traffic here lately that things very quickly get pushed to the next page. It's there - with the winner acknowledged, and a sig banner presented, and the winner responding too.

what are you talking about? all pictures are stored in the TGAS folder in the RTW folder!

Ibrahim
03-13-2008, 01:40
can someone tell me how to insert the image?

Mediolanicus
03-13-2008, 09:27
If you have Vista, use Fraps.
If you don't have vista just go to your Options in RTW and look at the controls. Look under Misc for Take Screenshots and change the key to whatever the key that suits you.

Once you've done that, every time you press this key - or combinations of keys (mine is ALT+S) - ingame, it will take a screenshot. You can take as many as you want. They will all be kept in the "tgas"-folder in your RTW main folder.

http://www.imagedump.us/

There you have two places to upload your picture. (If you choose the second one, make sure that the code is correct - the autogenerated one adds www.imagedump.us where it shouldn't be, so if you take that code you'll have to delete that part.)

Right, so thanks everyone for the screenshot help, I'll see if I can't put one up here for the contest myself. I'm actually playing a Roman campaign at the moment, go figure, I know :laugh4:.
By the way though, I know this is off topic, but I was wondering if there is a way to to use fraps' video recording option for other other simpler programs. Like, microsoft word or a little program I use called eclipse. The reason why I was asking is because I'm in a Java programming class and I have a powerpoint presentation due on monday. Basically what I was thinking of doing was to use fraps to record a tutorial of me making programs within eclipse. Is that possible?
