Heh long time since I've had one of these persistent CTDs. This is from my post-victory KH campain. It happened several times when I tried to fight the battle. I'm sieging Sidon or Hieroslymia (can't remember which) and the Ptolies are reinforcing the besieged. I was able to auto-calc the battle and continue after being frustrated by the CTD. A few turns later I had a similar situation but it was a different town and it only happened once and worked the second time.
I have no unoffical mods except Force Diplomacy. I have the most recent fixes plus the optional client ruler and apeleuteroi fixes (though this campaign was started pre-optional fixes so my client rulers still can't lift a siege and freed slaves rampage).
I dunno whether this was just an unfortunate combination of one-time CTDs or a persistent one. This campaign, and 1.0 in general, has been persistent CTD free up until now, and even now I find it hard to believe that this is a persistent one, esp since it would point to one that so much effort was put into solving.
