can you do like 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, ffa, coop?

and is there a monthly fee?

any combo up to 8 players (1vs7, 3vs5) But there are only two teams (Attack and Defense) No monthly fee but you have to deal with crappy Gamespy Arcade.

Today i tried four MP games all of which "failed to connect because of server error"

You can actually play more teams by attacking your allies in game... I used to do that in Shogun with a kensai for each team.. imagine 8 kensai running around http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif great fun..

It is damned that there are no AI... what is ffa?

And there are different play modes too...
