 Fays MTW Info Pack.zip
Welcome to Mike Fay's (mainly economic) Info for Medieval Total War (FaysMTW_Pack.zip)
First release, dated 6 September 2004
Very minor change 22 October 2004 to add TWC as upload site
I'm RedKnight on the forums (fora?) of TotalWar.org (.Org) and TWCenter.net (TWC), and will keep the TWC library and .Org's 3dDownloads updated with the latest version of this info pack. For what it's worth, I personally find the .Org better for its message forums, and TWC better for it's very flexible library - which even includes a place to have a message thread for each file. If you have questions on this material, ask it at TWC - it will notify me by email. But be warned - at this time (10/22/04), I'm playing RTW and probably not looking back. :)
This info is current as of MTW/VI version 2.01 but focuses on the MTW (European) arena, not the VI (Viking) arena. It only applies to MTW, not VI. However, some concepts (such as tax collector viability) are generally applicable.
Anybody is welcome to rip my info, but be nice enough to give me credit. Much of it is original, by me. And some of the rest, folks knew how it worked, but I put it into readily usable form. Apologies if you've already done this and I missed it! (And within three days, all this stuff will be on the net without attribution, lol.)
Many of these files are Excel (2000) format. There's a free viewer at Microsoft. Also you can check here, and there's even the freeware OpenOffice that says it allows reading and writing of all major productivity suites - but I've never used it. Others have recommended it to me (but I don't need it, since I have Office already).
New version
This info is current as of MTW/VI version 2.01 but focuses on the MTW (European) arena, not the VI (Viking) arena.

 regowner_table_formatted_VikingHorde.zip
This is a formatted version of the regowner table created by Viking Horde to make modding the Homeland GA's easier.
Simply rename the original in the medieval directory and copy this one into that directory.
The GA's are organised by province in this table in the original table it is one continuous list - quite confusing,
Viking Horde is planning on writing a guide on how to mod the GA's, (real life permitting - it is an awesome undertaking)

 Hotkeys.zip
Hotkeys for Medieval Totalwar
I created this summary of the hotkeys used in Total Medieval War for the players that prefer (as me) to use the keyboard rather than to click on the orders buttons. I used the information in the manual, the game and in the frogbeastegg’s beginner’s guide (Thanks), and I put them to this place.

 guide_and_files_forbetaHTW_v2.1.zip
Guide to make the HTW beta workable
First of all you need the beta of HTW installed, then follow this guide:
Campaignmap:
Convert the two jpgs into "tgas" (which you will find in this zip).
You could use "Irfan View" an picture viewer to convert them in the tga format (you find it with google).
When you have converted it into tga´s (both: MapTex.jpg and MapTex2.jpg converted to
"MapTex.tga" and "MapTex2.tga")
then put them into your "textures\campmap\Hellenic" folder.
Portraits:
To make the mod runable go into your "campmap\Portraits" and rename the vikings folder there to "Hellenic".
Then: Put the "Northtribs" folder from the zip into the campmap\Portraits\Hellenic folder.
That gives you most viking portraits in the mod:
If you want to have ancient portraits you have to put them manualy in the Hellenic folder (read the
readmes of the portraits, which you can download in the org too).
Now the beta should work.
But remember: Many things grafik will be not in this beta: They will be in the release
version.
