Re: STW- The good old days
Glad to see you're enjoying the game, mate. ~ I don't play Shogun as often as I did when I first got it, but I still spool it up now & then (currently got a Hojo campaign that's crawling along) -- it'll always stay on my hard drive, no matter what.

Shogun's AI is generally considered to be the best out of all the Total War titles. (At the very least, I myself hold that opinion. ~D ) I like that the computer is not only cunning in battle, but it's even fairly competent on the strategic level as well -- it seems to pretty smart about what it builds & trains, and it's pretty good at exploiting any weakness in my overall defenses (i.e., it's usually quick to invade any provinces that I've left under-defended). Call me masochistic, but I love that the AI in STW is fully capable of kicking my ass. :2thumbsup:
Re: STW- The good old days
Well being a modder of RTW, I realize that improvement is not necessarily linear- other issues come up as the game engine becomes more complicated
but they had the balance right, for sure
Yes- you have to pay attention- nothing like suddenly getting attacked from your side of the bridge
hehe
