The Economy Thread
I want to open a thread about the global economy by collecting quotes and predicitons. Note it isn't about advise, but about humour, crises, boom and doom and human nature.
So I start with two of my favorite quotes about Bernanke:
Marc Faber, January 2007 with swiss accent: " Mr. Bernake is a irresponsible moneyprinter, all he will do is printing and printing"
Jim Roger November 2007, after making similar statements before : " Mr. Bernake has written all his life about liquidity and now you have given him the printing machine. He will print money till the last tree"
:clown:
Do you have some nice quotes about a important person in our global economy?

Re: The Economy Thread
An oldie but a goodie, and more of a general observation:
"Did you ever think that making a speech on economics is a lot like pissing down your leg? It seems hot to you, but it never does to anyone else."
-- Lyndon Johnson

"The market can afford to be longer irrational than you will be solvent thinking you are right" :inquisitive:

Re : The Economy Thread
My favourite:
'If I owe you a thousand, I have got a problem. If I owe you a million, you have got a problem'.
From Keynes I think. Me, I am still looking for a sucker to borrow a million from so I can send him a note with the quote.

Re: The Economy Thread
"Give me a one-armed economist!" demanded President Harry S. Truman.
President Truman was the first president to appoint a council of economic advisers. Unlike some later presidents, he actually liked to liste n to his policy advisers. However, he preferred a clear recommendation, not a long discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of a particular course of action.
He quickly grew tired of economist who gave a good recommendation, and then began, "On the other hand. . ."
