Why can i only stack 960 men armys when i can field 1600 in default size? I get annoyed when i include 2 or 3 spears in my armies but then this means i cant stack all 16 units, but i can certainly field them all

Well I can get just under 2000 in my aemy stacks but I use huge unit size. Don't know why there is this limit. I did fight a battle yesterday with 2200 troops in 16 units, but they came from a number of provinces and were never stacked together, but all were able to fight together.
