I have made the unplayable factions playable in the program files and only 2 of them work,pontus and macedon. The rest whenever i click on them in the imperial campaign screen,the games crashes. This worked on another computer and it crashes on this one. I've done the same to barbarian invasion but it worked on there, not on Rome Total War.
Have you modded the game in any fashion? You might have messed up something other then descr_strat. Try using show_err and see what turns up. If that doesn't work, definatley some more info on your problem would help ~;)
How do you do the show_err thing? I've checked it and theres nothing wrong with it. Also in another forum website people say they can't play as certain unplayable factions(rebels). They put the mouse over the logo and the game crashes and they're back to the desktop. This is what happens to me.
to use show_err you right click on your RTW shortcut, go to properties, and add "-show_err" to the target line. Then, if your game CTD's, it may return some info on what is wrong.
And you say that it CTD's when you hover over it, not click on it? Did you by chance mod anything in the UI?
And just so you know, the Senate and Slave factions ARE playable but very buggy and should be avoided.
I click on it and the game crashes. I have played as rebels on RTW on another computer and i can play as rebels on barbarian invasion. All the factions work on barbarian invasion.
