Question about Advisor role in EB

Hi all - I'm new to this board. Been playing RTW vanilla for long time - started playing EB 1.1 (Romanii) a couple weeks ago. I really enjoy this mod - definitely more realistic and challenging. :2thumbsup:

My question relates to the advisor function (both in Campaign and Battle map). When I start up EB the guy pops out and I activate the script with
the "show me how" - after a few seconds he disappears - for good. This always happens even if I had set the game to High Advice, he doesn't come back. The advisor only appears once when I either start a new campaign or reload a saved game. When I go to battle map the advisor doesn't pop out either. In Vanilla the advisors can get annoying after awhile but it seems that in EB 1.1 the only function the advisor serves is for the script activation?
Or am I missing a patch?
Since EB is more challenging for a newbie than vanilla it would be nice if the advisor would be available for some campaign and battle help.

Otherwise, except for some noticeable lag during loading and end-of-turn the game runs smoothly and I enjoy all the new units/skins and nice hearing the orders being barked out in Latin.

It would be impossible to write all the scripted help required to fully inform players of EB, besides most people don't bother with the advisor anyway. You can largely find the information on these forums anyway. The advisor as thus been disabled except when you first start a campaign or a load a savegame where he is used to activate the script. He also informs you of certain scripted events that happen (mostly warnings if you get to close to certain rebel cities, who are allied to proper factions - sinope and KH for one).

Even if the adviser were still to be there, most of the information given have been rendered obsolete due to all the broadsweeping changes EB has given. Any information you would obtain from the adviser would likely be false. The adviser is an okay feature, but I would think that by the time you start delving inside mods, you're probably fine with most of the basic parts of RTW.
