Is there a technical problem with barbarian large walls?
Everytime i fight a battle with large barbarian city walls the game goes extremely choppy, sometimes frame rate drops literally to 1 and freezes for long periods of time.
My machine is perfectly capable of running EB. I have a dual core 2.4 gigglehertz processor, 2 gigglebytes of ram and a radeon x1950 video card. I can usually have about 6-7 thousand units on screen with no performance problems at all, except when barbarian large walls are part of the battle then all i need is 200 units for the frame rate to drop to 0.

I don't have your problem with oppidas and my system is just about the same as yours. Maybe your installation's walls got corrupted? Try the validation tool...
Also, gigglebytes? Gigglehertz? Giggle indeed.

Gigglebytes and gigglehertz man. It sounds so much better than gigabytes don't you think?

My PC is 5+ years old, and I do get a hit on the FPS, but its not too bad around the oppida.

This happened to me once when I was attacking some Roman city. The game got very laggy for a while as my siege weapon(scorpions of some sort) were being set up, then suddenly went away. Of course, I've never had any problems with the Oppida, so I doubt this has anything to do with your lagg.
