a man can spend his life
looking for the perfect cherry blossom
and it would not be a wasted life
the wind whispers a yamabushi is returning
rain follows the warrior
in life and battle
and glorious death
a lone horagai mourns the mist
to the wind that journeys
from the mountain to the sea
we are all the same
of no importance
wind brings change
change brings progress
something oft neglected
will see effort again

Care to explain what this is about....?
Sounds err... different. ~:joker:
really nice :2thumbsup:
a sword is swiftest
when justice carries it
my son returns
on it's wings

i am a messenger
for many years a samurai has been absent from his lands,
he has travelled far,
fought many battles against men, and demons;
he has kept his honour throughout and is, finally, on his journey home.
He has missed his friends,
for none could travel with him,
the way was treacherous and the destination unknown,
but he journeys home in company.

Thanks for these very nice poems. They seem to be in a free form except for the 4 line verse common to all, so not a strict traditional form of Japanese poem. So I would say it's probably gendai-shi style poetry.
