Why can Carthege recruit the Gaesatae in more places than the Aedui!!

Probably somebody forgot to change this AOR accordingly while they were limiting Geastae AOR for Celtic factions...

Or maybe Gestae like the big buck Carthage always seem to have a lot and thus are more willing to join their cause?

The Carthaginian recruitment must have simply been overlooked for the reduction...

It was reduced so it reflects the area where the tribe actually lived or sth like that.

Thank you for the PM, but this isn't something critical that warrants a fix. It'll get in the next release instead.

But the Tindanotae in Galatia can't be recruited by the Aedui/Arverni because of that model sharing thing, so why aren't the gaesatae still available there?

You should change that attitude. There will always be people who will take offence. My best friend is the same. Me and his other friends usually think it funny the way he acts, since we know he doesn't mean it. But other people are sometimes really shocked!

I made the change in the spreadsheet used to generate the EDB code, the change will be included in a future patch for EB1.

The thing is the Internet does not express tonality and you can't tell if someone is joking or whatever. For example I re-read and modify or edit any post I think might sound inflammatory, unless intended.

As to the speculation about another version of EB1/EB2: We'll make another release for EB1 once we've accumulated a fair amount of fixes and other changes. No new features are being made for EB1.

So if 1.2 comes out can you make a patch that we install over 1.1 instead of having to download the whole thing again?

So what about my question? Does no one who's seen it know the answer, or was the question just missed?

They wouldn't be Gaesatae in Galatia, we'll probably represent this better in EB2. But Gaesatae should be available around the area their tribe was in. And the Tindanotae are very well represented right now in Anatolia as rare mercs IMO...

Yeah, I'm aware of this, but the tindanotae are practically gaesatae but in Galatia, and hadn't it been for said model problem, they'd be available. Their stats are almost identical (and to what I can see, the slight difference is in the tindanotae favour anyway) and their cost is the same, so it's my opinion that the lesser of the two evils is to have gaesatae there to "take their place", even though they of course wouldn't be gaesatae.

But I guess that's just my opinion, and if the EB team doesn't share it, that's fine.

I think so.

OK so wrap up: :book:

1- This big AoR of Carthege will be reduce in the fixes of 1.2.
2- 1.2 will come out when enough errors have been gathered.
3- 1.2 will be installed over 1.1.
4- The Tindonate are still expensive mercs in Galatia.
5- The Aedui/Arverni cannot recruit them because of a model sharing thingy.
6- There won't be a fix in 1.2 to make Aedui/Arverni recruit Gaesatae in Galatia because there were not Gaesatae in Galatai. (There were Tindonate, and even though they are very close they are not the same)
7- This last issue will be solved in EB2. (along with other factions having a similar problem.)

You're making a false dichotomy. Having a) as true does not prevent b) from being true as well. B) must, in any case, be correct or the reason for not making gaesatae available in Galatia would disappear.

Well yeah I know that. I am just trying to find out "exactly" if is one of those or is it both, or maybe there is something else.

It just hits me that all of the sudden the Gaesate have been restricted A LOT! And those guys are a nessesity in a Gallic army.

It would seem that the AoR has been restricted to the area's they actually came from, which, as a byproduct also stops the Aedui/Arverni spamming them constantly.
